Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC provides immediate access to food to those who cannot afford it and passionately pursues an end to hunger through outreach, education and advocacy. More than 400 partner programs across 18 counties rely on Second Harvest Food Bank as a primary source of food, including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters and special feeding programs for children and seniors. Together, we serve more than 300,000 people in need of food assistance each year, including 100,000 children.
Greensboro Urban Ministry provides crisis intervention and emergency services through the basics of food and shelter, as well as helping many individuals and families break the cycles of poverty, hunger, and homelessness. Providing direct food assistance to more than 26,000 individuals and food bank services to numerous Greensboro agencies each year.
